Effective from 11 September 2026
These Terms and Conditions apply to bookings for Arctic Park activities and related transfers. They explain how bookings, payments, cancellations, programme changes and safe participation are handled. By making a booking, the person making the booking confirms that they have read these terms and will make them available to every participant included in the booking. Mandatory consumer rights always prevail over any conflicting provision in these terms.
Arctic Park services are provided by Destination Arctic Circle Oy, Business ID 3403284-4. The visiting address is Norvatie 1159, 96900 Rovaniemi, Finland. Contact details: info@arcticpark.fi, +358 50 553 0501 and www.arcticpark.fi.
2 Scope of these terms
These terms apply to Arctic Park’s scheduled and private day programmes, including snowmobile activities, ice fishing, evening programmes, reindeer encounters, food service included in a programme and transfers sold as part of an Arctic Park activity. The service description and booking confirmation form part of the contract.
These terms do not apply to accommodation or separate vehicle rental. If a booking is made through a reseller or booking platform, that seller’s payment, amendment and cancellation terms may apply. Arctic Park’s safety and participation rules continue to apply during the activity.
A booking becomes binding when Arctic Park or an authorised reseller confirms it and any payment required at the time of booking has been successfully completed. The customer must check the confirmation immediately and notify Arctic Park without delay of any error in the date, time, number of participants, contact details or other information.
The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for providing accurate information for the group. Requests are not confirmed until accepted in writing.
The applicable price is the price shown at the time of booking or stated in a written offer for a tailored programme. Unless otherwise stated, prices are in euros and include the applicable value added tax. The booking confirmation states what is included. Optional services and personal expenses are not included unless expressly listed.
Payment must be made using the methods and by the deadline shown during booking or in the invoice. Arctic Park may cancel an unpaid booking after giving the customer a reasonable opportunity to complete payment.
Cancellations must be made in writing by email to info@arcticpark.fi or through the booking channel used. The cancellation time is the time when the notice is received by Arctic Park or the relevant reseller. For direct bookings, the following cancellation policy applies:
|
Cancellation received |
Refund |
|
At least 48 hours before the scheduled start |
100% of the activity price |
|
Less than 48 hours before the scheduled start |
No refund |
|
No show |
No refund |
A reduction in participant numbers is treated as a partial cancellation and is subject to the same time limits. Illness, transport disruption, flight changes and other personal circumstances do not automatically change the cancellation policy. Customers are strongly advised to obtain travel insurance that covers activity cancellations. If a refund is due under these terms, Arctic Park will process it within seven business days. The time taken for the funds to appear in the customer’s account may depend on the payment provider and the customer’s bank.
A booking for a leisure service scheduled for a specific date or period does not normally have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right. Any right to cancel is therefore determined by these terms, the applicable reseller terms and mandatory law.
Arctic Park will try to accommodate requests to change the date, time, participant details or programme, but changes are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. A change may affect the price. If a requested change cannot be accepted and the customer does not attend the original booking, the customer cancellation policy applies.
Arctic activities depend on safe weather, snow, ice, equipment, animals and local operating conditions. Arctic Park may make reasonable changes to the route, timetable, vehicle allocation, activity order, food service, meeting point or other practical arrangements when necessary for safety, animal welfare or operational reasons, provided that the essential character and value of the service are maintained.
Arctic Park may cancel or materially change an activity if it cannot be provided safely or as agreed because of insufficient snow or ice, extreme weather, equipment failure, illness, official restrictions, interruption of essential services or another circumstance beyond reasonable control. Arctic Park will notify the customer as soon as reasonably possible.
If Arctic Park cancels the activity, the customer may choose a suitable replacement date or a full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled service. If a material part of the programme cannot be provided, Arctic Park will offer an appropriate alternative or a proportionate price reduction or refund. A voucher will be offered only as an option. Arctic Park is not responsible for separate travel, accommodation or other consequential costs unless liability is required by law.
Customers must be ready at the confirmed meeting point at the confirmed time. Pick-up details are stated in the booking confirmation. A customer who misses a transfer must contact Arctic Park immediately and, where possible, arrange transport to Arctic Park at their own expense in time for the safety briefing.
Late arrival may shorten the activity. If participation is no longer possible without delaying the group or compromising safety, the booking may be treated as a no show and no refund will be due. Arctic Park is not responsible for delays caused by the customer’s flights, public transport, road conditions or other travel arrangements.
All participants must follow the guide’s instructions, use the required safety equipment and act with reasonable care. The guide has final authority over safety and may change, pause or stop a participant’s activity when necessary.
The customer must inform Arctic Park before the activity of any medical condition, injury, pregnancy, disability, allergy or other circumstance that may affect safe participation or require reasonable arrangements. Participation may be restricted where Arctic Park reasonably considers this necessary for the participant’s or another person’s safety. Customers who are uncertain about their fitness to participate should seek medical advice before booking.
Arctic Park will consider accessibility requests individually. Customers with limited mobility or other support needs should contact Arctic Park before booking so that safe and practical arrangements can be assessed.
Participants must dress for winter conditions and follow any clothing guidance provided before the activity. A helmet and an additional warm jacket for driving are provided when stated in the programme description. These do not replace suitable winter base layers, trousers, footwear, gloves and other personal clothing. Normal cold, snowfall, darkness and changing winter weather are part of the experience and do not by themselves entitle the customer to cancel without charge.
Durations and route lengths are approximate. Actual driving time and programme order vary according to group size, participant ability, safety, weather and trail conditions. For the Family Snowmobile Experience, the activity at Arctic Park lasts approximately two hours, and the total duration is approximately three hours when transfers are included. Around one hour of snowmobile driving is normally suitable, especially for children.
Children first practise in a dedicated training area. Depending on their age, size, confidence and driving ability, they may continue on the longer forest trail within the closed private area. Arctic Park does not guarantee that every participant will drive the same route, snowmobile or amount of time.
Customers must provide dietary requirements and allergy information before the activity, preferably when booking. Arctic Park will make reasonable efforts to provide suitable alternatives but cannot guarantee an environment entirely free from allergens. Participants remain responsible for carrying any medication they may need.
Reindeer encounters are supervised and take place on the animals’ terms. Participants must follow staff instructions, remain in permitted areas and avoid feeding or touching animals except as directed. Routes and encounters may be changed or omitted when necessary for animal welfare or safety. Participants must respect the natural environment and take all litter with them or use the bins provided.
Participants must use snowmobiles, helmets, clothing and other equipment only as instructed. A participant may be responsible under applicable law for damage caused intentionally or through negligence. For damage to a snowmobile caused by a customer, the customer’s maximum self-liability is EUR 990 per snowmobile per incident.
Customers are responsible for their own phones, cameras, glasses, jewellery, luggage and other personal property. Arctic Park is liable for loss of or damage to personal property only to the extent required by applicable law. Any lost property found at Arctic Park will be kept for 30 days.
Arctic Park provides its services with professional care and in accordance with applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.
Arctic Park is not liable for a loss caused by the customer’s failure to follow instructions, inaccurate information supplied by the customer, an undisclosed health condition, normal risks that could not reasonably have been avoided, or an event outside Arctic Park’s reasonable control, except to the extent liability is imposed by mandatory law. Arctic Park holds liability insurance with LähiTapiola. Customers are strongly advised to maintain adequate travel, accident and personal property insurance.
Any concern should be reported to the guide immediately so that Arctic Park has a reasonable opportunity to correct the issue. If the matter is not resolved during the activity, the customer should send a written complaint to info@arcticpark.fi without undue delay and include the booking reference, date, description of the issue and any relevant supporting information. Arctic Park will respond within a reasonable time.
Arctic Park processes personal data for booking administration, payment, customer communication, safety, legal obligations and service delivery. More information is provided in Arctic Park’s Privacy Policy. Booking platforms and payment providers may process personal data under their own privacy notices. Arctic Park staff may take photographs and videos during activities. These may be used for Arctic Park’s marketing and promotional purposes unless the participant informs Arctic Park or the guide that they do not wish to be photographed or filmed. This should preferably be done before the activity begins. A parent or guardian may give this notice on behalf of a child.
These terms and the contract are governed by Finnish law. For a consumer, this choice does not remove any mandatory protection granted by the law of the consumer’s country of habitual residence. The parties should first try to resolve any disagreement directly.
A consumer may contact the Finnish Consumer Advisory Services for guidance and may refer an unresolved matter to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board after first contacting Arctic Park. Information is available at www.kkv.fi/en/consumer-affairs/consumer-advisory-services/ and www.kuluttajariita.fi/en/. A consumer may also bring proceedings before a competent court as provided by mandatory law. For business customers, disputes shall be resolved by the District Court of Lapland as the court of first instance, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
