Try snowmobiling in a safe and relaxed environment designed for families, beginners and first-time drivers
At Arctic Park, you can learn to drive at your own pace in a closed private area with no outside traffic. No driving licence or previous experience is required. Our experienced local staff will guide you through every step and select a suitable, speed-limited snowmobile for you.
After practising, follow a three-kilometre forest trail, stop to feed our four reindeer and warm up by the fire inside the kota.

Snowmobiling is part of everyday winter life in Lapland. At Arctic Park, we offer you the opportunity to experience it in the same calm and practical way that we do ourselves.
This is not a high-speed safari or a racetrack. The experience takes place in a closed, private area designed specifically for safe snowmobile driving. With no outside traffic and a maximum of seven guests, everyone has time to learn, practise and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
Our family-run Arctic Park is located by Lake Norvajärvi, approximately 20 minutes from Rovaniemi city centre. The surrounding forest, clean Arctic air and peaceful winter landscape make it an ideal place for your first snowmobile experience.
Arrival and Equipment
Join our organised pick-up from Rovaniemi or arrive with your own car. Free parking is available at Arctic Park. On arrival, you will receive a helmet and an additional warm jacket for driving.
Safety Briefing
Your guide will introduce you to the area, explain how the snowmobiles work, and go through the most important safety instructions. We have small, medium-sized, and full-sized snowmobiles. Each vehicle has been adjusted for safe driving and has a maximum speed limit. Our staff will select a suitable snowmobile based on the participant’s age, size, and experience.
Practising on the Training Track
Before entering the longer trail, you will practise starting, stopping, steering, and controlling the snowmobile on a dedicated training track. There is no need to hurry. Your guide will stay close and make sure you feel comfortable before continuing.
Three-Kilometre Forest Trail
Once everyone is ready, the experience continues along a three- kilometre trail through the snowy forest. The route remains within Arctic Park’s controlled private area, allowing you to enjoy the drive without other traffic.
Meet Our Reindeer
Along the trail, we stop beside the reindeer enclosure to meet and feed our reindeer. The encounter takes place calmly and on the animals’ terms. Their wellbeing is always our priority.
Campfire Break in the Kota
After driving, you can warm up by the fire inside the kota, grill a sausage, and enjoy a hot berry drink. It is a peaceful ending to the experience and a chance to share stories with your local guide.
